Web accessibility is becoming mandatory in Switzerland (revised Disability Equality Act, expected from 2027). We check whether your website is ready.
Turning obligation into a green light.

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about the revised Disability Equality Act (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BehiG), accessibility and our audit report.

I don't run an online shop – do I still need to do anything?

It depends. Purely informational or presentation sites (such as a club or tradesperson website without sales) are less in focus. But as soon as your site handles bookings, reservations or sales online, it counts among the offerings for which the revised Disability Equality Act becomes relevant from 2027. And quite apart from the law: an accessible website is more usable for all visitors, easier to find and looks more professional. Our check shows you where you stand – whether it's an obligation or voluntary.

Does the revised Disability Equality Act even apply to my small shop?

In most cases, yes. Whether exceptions apply, for example for very small businesses, depends on the specific design of the revised Disability Equality Act. Anyone who sells products through an online shop should generally assume an obligation – if in doubt, clarify your individual case with a specialist.

Why have us do the audit?

Because you get exactly the audit depth you need – at a fraction of the cost of an agency, which charges 3'000 to 15'000 CHF for a full audit. The Standard audit report is the quick, automated initial assessment. The Complete audit report goes further: we also test by hand – 37 WCAG 2.2 AA points that an automated tool doesn't see – and, if the audit is passed, award our seal – the associated seal subscription, which keeps it continuously valid, is automatically included – the first 12 months free, then 179 CHF/year. The Standard audit report does not include a seal. On top of that you get everything explained understandably (easy for non-experts plus a technical section for your developer), a result in days rather than weeks and no scaremongering or false "100 % legally safe" promises. And from every report a fixed share goes to organisations that support people with disabilities – your investment works twice.

I also sell to Germany/the EU. Does something different apply to me?

Possibly, yes. If your shop targets customers in Germany or the EU, binding European accessibility law has already applied there since 28 June 2025 – with possible fines and warning letters. Our check tests to the same WCAG standard and equips you for both markets. Clarify the specific legal case with a specialist.

Is your report legally binding proof?

No, and be sceptical of anyone who promises you that. The Standard audit report is a technical initial assessment to WCAG 2.2 (A/AA) and covers the automatically testable criteria. The Complete audit report adds 37 hand-checked points and leads to our Greenlight seal – the seal subscription is automatically included (12 months free, then 179 CHF/year). The Standard audit report does not include a seal. Both are honestly graded – but neither is an official certification nor a full conformity assessment to EN 301 549. Where such a formal assessment is required, we tell you so openly.

What does the check cover – and what not?

Standard audit report: all automatically detectable WCAG criteria (A/AA) – missing image texts, contrasts, labels, structure. These are the central, measurable barriers. Complete audit report: additionally 37 criteria that only a human can assess – whether an alternative text makes sense in terms of content, whether the operating order remains logical, whether the language is understandable. So with the Complete report we also check by hand what an automated tool doesn't see. Whatever still remains open even then – a full conformity assessment to EN 301 549 is more extensive – we name openly instead of concealing it.

Can I fix the defects myself?

Many of them, yes – missing image descriptions, page titles or form labels can often be maintained directly in the shop system. Our report clearly distinguishes between "you can do it yourself" and "needs your web designer", including an effort estimate for each point.

Do you need access to my shop system?

No. We audit your shop from the outside via the public URL – exactly as visitors and screen readers do. You don't need to install anything and you don't hand over any access credentials.

Is it true that a share goes to disability organisations?

Yes. From every Standard audit report sold we pass on 10 %, and from the Complete audit report 20 % – to an organisation that supports people with disabilities. When ordering, you can choose the organisation. As long as no preferred organisation is specified, we forward the contribution to a vetted organisation.

Do you work together with disability organisations?

We are currently in the process of building this cooperation – and we say this deliberately honestly: we do not claim to be already recognised by an organisation. Our goal is a genuine partnership with a clean, jointly agreed concept and a fixed donation share. As soon as partnerships are in place, we will show this here transparently.
